Gold or silver box sets never seem to wear well, suffering marks and scuffs all too easily, but this box is in reasonable condition - see photographs.

German efficiency seems to have lapsed momentarily when publishing this set. Side 16 containing symphony no. 8 is not identified as such, although the symphony's four movements are listed on the label.
