Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (7 May 1840 – 6 November 1893) Russian composer of the Romantic period, Tchaikovsky composed across many genres, including seven symphonies, ten operas, three ballets, concertos, songs and chamber music. His most famous works include 1812 Overture, Piano Concerto No. 1, Symphony no. 6“Pathétique” the opera Eugene Onegin and the ballets Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty.
