 JUNE 2025 - we will be concentrating on Vivaldi during this period, starting, predictably enough, with The Four Seasons. The four concertos that make up this work are in fact the opening concertos of the set of twelve published in 1725 as Vivaldi's Opus 8 'The Contest Between Harmony & Invention'. In common with many other Baroque composers, Vivaldi's output was huge (over 500 concertos, 40 operas, much sacred music, motets, serenatas and a good deal of instrumental music). In an attempt to give a rounded view of this fascinating composer, we hope to feature a selection from every genre.

Our survey of 20th Century music will concentrate on Russian / Soviet composers, starting with Khachaturian and his contemporaries. 

We will also continue to add to our newest category, A Thousand Years of Song, to showcase our huge selection of vocal recordings, tracing the development of song from the minstrels and troubadours of the 12th century up to the 21st century.
