Not to be confused with his better known 1950 NBC Symphony recording, this performance was recorded in Philadelphia in November 1941. Due to the outbreak of war, it lay forgotten in the RCA Vaults until it was painstakingly restored to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the conductor's death in 1962 and is issued here for the first time.
