The harpsichord sonatas of Domenico Scarlatti, the son of Alessandro, number 700 - although some experts say 600 - but who's arguing? John Williams has transcribed six for guitar for this recording, apparently with 'hardly, if any, alteration' and it is certain that his efforts will garner more renown for this composer than in their original guise.
