Ernest Ansermet ( 11 Nov1883 – 20 Feb 1969 ) Swiss Conductor and founder - in 1918 - of Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR) an association that lasted until 1967.
Ansermet made made a significant number of recordings with Decca. These recordings explore his enormous repertoire and catholic taste, but he is particularly well known for recordings of 20th century works by French composers Debussy and Ravel, as well as virtually all the works of Stravinsky.
