Fritz Reiner ( 1888 – 1963 ) Hungarian-born American Conductor who held several key positions in American orchestras but his most famous tenure was as Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1953 to 1963 where he recorded some 'must hear' recordings of Brahms, Strauss, Bartók, and Mahler
