Sir Neville Marriner (1924–2016) was a distinguished English conductor and violinist, celebrated for his clarity, elegance, and pioneering work in historically informed performance. in 1958 He founded the Academy of St Martin in the Fields ( ASMF ) transforming it into one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras and producing a vast legacy of acclaimed recordings, particularly of Baroque and Classical repertoire.
