Benjamin Britten is best known for revitalizing English opera in the 20th century. His operas such as, Peter Grimes and The Rape of Lucretia are performed worldwide and often explore psychological and moral themes. His Orchestral and Choral Works include War Requiem and Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra – written in 1945 to introduce children to orchestral instruments.
