ELIZABETH SCHWARZKOPF
Elisabeth Schwarzkopf (1915–2006) German soprano, celebrated as one of the greatest interpreters of opera and lieder in the 20th century. Schwarzkopf gained international acclaim for her performances in works by Mozart, Strauss, and Wagner, as well as her masterful song recitals. She was a leading figure on the stages of Europe’s most prestigious opera houses and collaborated with legendary conductors including Herbert von Karajan and Wilhelm Furtwängler.
