Leonid Kogan (1924 - 1982) was one of the Soviet Union’s greatest violinists whose fiery technique and intensity earned him comparison to David Oistrakh. He excelled in Russian repertoire and was admired for his disciplined, clear style. Though less internationally known due to political restrictions, Leonid Kogan’s artistry was highly respected by peers.
