Decca PFS
Decca's Phase 4 Stereo (PFS) records were marketed in the early 1960s as a new kind of listening experience. The recordings often used innovative microphone placement and multi-channel mixing techniques (sometimes up to 20 channels mixed down to stereo), giving them a very distinctive and dramatic sound.
Decca's Phase 4 catalogue included light orchestral music, film scores, popular classics, and easy listening, aimed at both audiophiles and casual listeners.
