YEVGENY MRAVINSKY
Yevgeny Mravinsky (1903–1988) was a legendary Russian conductor, best known for his long and transformative tenure with the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra, which he led from 1938 until his death.
Mravinsky was a close collaborator of Dmitri Shostakovich, premiering several of his symphonies, and became especially revered for his interpretations of Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Shostakovich.
