Collection: Decca SXL ED1
Decca's first Stereo SXL 2000 series releases in 1958 were grooved with black & silver labels and bore the soon to be famous FULL FREQUENCY STEREOPHONIC SOUND banner with Original Recording By at the 10'o'clock position. This label style is known as ED1 and it continued throughout the 2000 series and into the SXL 6000 series, launched in 1962. The ED1 label was eventually replaced in 1964 and by SXL 6248 (1966) it had virtually disappeared. One very late, very last and very isolated ED1 appeared in 1968 - Claudio Abbado / LSO / Mendelssohn on SXL 6363.
