Sir Neville Marriner (1924–2016) English conductor and violinist, celebrated for his clarity, elegance, and pioneering work in historically informed performance. In 1958 he founded the Academy of St Martin in the Fields ( ASMIF ) transforming it into one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras and producing a vast legacy of acclaimed recordings, particularly of Baroque and Classical repertoire.
