Collection: NEW ARRIVALS
SEPTEMBER 2026 - This month we feature the music of MAX BRUCH (1838 - 1920). Best known for the Scottish Fantasia and the Violin Concerto No. 1, his output was wide ranging and varied, including three operas.
As we have listed so much orchestral music recently, we have rather neglected other genres and it is about time to pay attention to solo instrumental works, chamber music and the concerto. Among 18th century composers, who better to show his skills in all these genres than JOSEPH HAYDN (1732 - 1809) There are few more versatile and prolific composers than Haydn, friend and admirer of Mozart, whose works similarly span every genre. We will continue the Haydn listing next month with a survey of his orchestral music and choral works.
Finally, to balance this month's featured works with music from the late 19th and early 20th century, we showcase the tone poems of RICHARD STRAUSS
