JUNE 2026 - This month we continue our Great Performers series with a survey of the recordings of MSTISLAV ROSTROPOVICH (1927 - 2007). Recognised as one of the great cellists, his repertoire was huge and his recorded legacy reflects the fact. His career spanned over 50 years, first as an instrumentalist and latterly as a conductor. Our survey will concentrate on his LP recordings as cellist and accompanist rather than conductor, and will commence with his six different performances of the Dvorak Cello Concerto
Finally, our June 2026 featured work will be the MOZART REQUIEM
